Hello Friends!
so... I was browsing through old pics on my computer the other day and came across some photos I took last December. As I looked through them, it all came back to me... I had designed some cute Christmas patterns for you guys, but things were so busy that I never had time to post them! So lucky for me, I can share them with you now and I didn't have to do all the prep work, ha!
So these can be used as gift wrap, stickers, cards, whatever you can imagine! I used them to cover some sweet little boxes... and I also printed the pattern out on circle labels to make some cheery stickers!
Take a peek...
Simply click on the image of the design you'd like to save... then right-click and save to your computer! They are high-resolution .png images formatted for legal sized paper (8.5x14) But you should be able to print them on other sizes of paper as well.
** as alway, these designs/files are for personal/small business use only. They may not be sold or used for profit in any way. File may not be distributed for profit.
ENJOY!

I also have a Valentine's Day Printable for you!
As always I'm late on the holiday thing... You might just have to save it for next year :)
It came as a result of me suddenly realizing it might be nice to do a few Valentines with the girls... so to the computer I ran and made this happy little Paisley Butterfly to color.
We added a little bit of glitter to make them just a bit more special... :)
Even if you already have Valentines to give away, these butterflies would make a happy coloring activity for Heart Day... lots of tiny details to enjoy coloring! My 4, 6, and 8 year olds all had a blast with them!

One last thing... My little baby boy, is turning 2 today. I thought I just had him... wasn't I pregnant with him like yesterday? So weird. But today, I'm thankful for my one and apparently only, little boy :)
Happy Birthday, Virgil!
(and yes, he doesn't have pants on...again... in this photo from this morning.)

Homemade Doll House... a Gift Idea so that I feel cool.
So last year I made almost all of my family and extended family's Christmas gifts. It was fun, but exhausting. Last Christmas I just bit off far more than I could chew... I had Christmas cards in my my Etsy store, was doing freelance graphic design jobs, making gifts, homeschooling, and participating in all the regular Christmas festivities...all with 4 kiddos! Yeah.
Not this year. I just can't do all that! I'm trying really hard to know my limits. For one thing, I'm preggers and am just plain old tired most of the time. Secondly, I tend to let the really important things slip to the back when I'm busy. This year I want... am trying to... enjoy the season, slow down, and talk more about our Savior. I'm trying to focus less on milking the Christmas selling season and more on staying sane! Less on an ideal creative Christmas atmosphere and more on keeping up with the laundry and meals! ... So there are no Christmas items in my store, just prints. I'm not doing any real freelance work during December. And I'm not making all those fun homemade gifts.
It's kinda sad and hard though... I'm a creative person! I'm a business-minded person! It's hard to turn that side of me off. I feel like the rest of the people in the world (which is the blog/internet world...a somewhat misleading niche of people who are unlike many others!... you creative Pinterest and Blog people! ) are going on without me. They are making gifts, sharing creative gift ideas, making fancy holiday treats, decorating out the wazoo! I know there are so many people who are taking it easy like me... but it doesn't feel like it!
So to appease my need to be part of the fancy creative people... I'm sharing a gift idea from last year! I happen to take these pics last year as well, so it didn't really require much of my time :) I found this simple wooden doll house on Pinterest and asked the hubs to make it for some of my nieces. We made 2 small ones and a big one for Barbie sized dolls. They were quite easy to make and turned out really cute... They just slide together and come apart... stacking in two flat pieces, not taking up much space at all.
I used scrapbook paper on the small ones and thick wrapping paper to cover the walls on the large one. I adhered it with spray glue and then sealed it with Mod Podge. So... If you are feeling ambitious this year... or next year, have at it!!
I made so many other cute gifts last year... and really had wanted to show you those ideas as well. But I think it's safe to say, I'm just not going to find time to get out my camera and all the stuff I used to make the items and take pictures. sorry. Maybe during the year, I'll get around to it... or maybe not :)
Blessings on whatever your December holds. Regardless of the level of your ambitions, may it be focused on God's love and his indescribable gift of his Son... our Savior!

Bingo Birthday Card
Hello Friends!
I have a quick and easy, yet clever Birthday card idea for you...
Find an old Bingo card with the right number for how old the person is turning.... circle it with a Sharpie, and attach the corresponding marker with hot glue to a string. I wrote a message on the back and enclosed it with my gift....like I said, EASY!

A HAPPY THING from Raising Up Rubies
I received the most impressively beautiful and creative gift last week....
Well, let me back up. Last Spring I came to know the lovely and creative Jaime... but back then, the first thing I recognized about her was her love for Christ. It wasn't until I started doing some design work for her that I realized how much else we had in common! A friendship formed based on creative whimsy, pretty patterns, vintage flair, and our Lord :)
Well, after I finished her blog header, she continued to amaze me as she began to post on her blog! You must check our her blog... take a look at her craft room... and then you have to see her newly launched Etsy store. This girl is awesome.
Anyway... back to the gift. Like I said, she just opened an Etsy store and she sent me some of the goodies that she's planning on selling there... take a look :)

Every last detail was perfect... adorable tags on everything, strips of vintage sheets here and there, glassine bags, kraft paper, little hearts everywhere... made me swoon :)
The box is still on my desk...spilling over with all the happy goodies... It makes me smile every time I look at it... it's most definitely a Happy Thing :)
Thanks again, Jaime! love you!

Make stickers out of vintage papers....
Hello Friends! Sorry that I've been MIA... that's how summer is, you know?
I've been wanting to show you another idea I have for using vintage catalogs, magazines, books, papers, etc...
You'll Need:
•vintage paper (anything you like!)
•sticker paper sheets (you can buy these lots of places... I got mine at Staples.)
•3M Super 77 Spray Adhesive
•scissors
All you do is spray the backside of your vintage paper and the front side of your sticker paper... and smooth together! Then just cut out your shapes... Easy Peasy!

A Pretty Little Gift
I wanted to show you the goodies I whipped up for the special moms in my life the other weekend...
Enjoy :)
First off, I filled some glassine bags with pretty colored treats...
I decorated the bags with fabric scrap flags, meaningful verses, little labels, and sewed it all together with a zig-zag stitch.
I made fabric covered little envelopes... to hold simple little Mother's Day notes.
I wrapped Hershey's Nuggets with Avery address labels... which I had printed vintage floral patterns and polka dots on.
And finally, I wrapped little boxes in vintage sewing pattern paper and vintage Montgomery Ward catalog pages... (I don't have a pic of the one in the catalog pages :( ) to hold all the goodies! I used plenty of double stick tape to secure the brittle paper onto the box... that worked much better than regular tape or glue.
I liked the wrapped boxes so much, I think I'm going to have to make some for myself... they'd look great on my office shelves :)

Fabric Washi Tape Strips Tutorial
Yeah, yeah, I know... I make alot of "fake" washi tape. But it's so cute! And it provides such charm, color, cuteness, whimsy, blah, blah, blah to anything and everything! So forgive me :)
I just lately tried out my idea of making this fabric washi tape... and low and behold it actually worked! yipee.
Think of all those fabric scraps you have... you could make piles of different prints of washi tape with it!!!
oh, glorious day.
YOU WILL NEED:
-fabric
-scissors OR rotary cutter, ruler, and cutting board
-3M Super 77 Spray Adhesive - I am in love with this stuff... I've used it forever on EVERYTHING
you can find it a number of places... I buy it at Lowes.
-pinking shears
-wax paper
WHAT YOU DO:
It's super easy.
1. cut fabric into strips... I made them 3/4" wide
2. then cut the strips with the pinking shears into various lengths of "tape"
3. turn them upside down on cardboard or wax paper
4. spray GENEROUSLY with 3M Super 77(...outside or in your garage. duh. )
5. use immediately for best stick OR place on wax paper for use later!
** I realized afterwards that it might be best to iron your fabric before you begin... the creases make the tape not want to lie flat... obviously.
Enjoy!
Blessings,
