Free Printable Scripture Print!

As many of you probablyremember, this blog has been home to many free printables over the years.  I love designing things... whether based on a need in our home, for my business, or just for fun!

Around the time that Virgil was born I had an Etsy shop full of scripture prints.  I enjoyed that season of design as it reflected my desire to have scripture forefront in my life and also make that available to others.  My business gradually shifted to a different genre, but I still love to create scripture prints!

The thought occurred to me lately, that I could share some of those old scripture prints...and some new ones... with you as a means of encouragement!  I also love the idea of you, my readers, passing those scripture prints along to others who need the Word of God to meet them in their tired and broken places.  We all need the strength and hope that can only come from the mouth of God!

So!  This verse and design is a favorite... You can download it as a small art print or in a mini version (6 on a sheet), perfect for stuffing in a card or gift to a friend!   They would also be darling for planners, journals, or other crafting projects...just sayin' :)

Tis the season of Christmas lists! ...and a free printable!

Hi Friends!

So for your over abundance of inevitable Christmas lists that will be made over the next weeks... I present to you these...ta da! I'm putting mine in my planner... and on my desk... and on the fridge... and on my bathroom mirror.  ha.

Free Printable Merry Mail Stickers!...and a dose of honesty.

So does it irk you that I'm posting Christmas stuff already? Or does it get you excited? I hope it makes you feel all giddy inside, but I'm very well aware of the fact that it might make you feel overwhelmed and behind before you've even begun.

Here's how I know:  5 years ago, I felt nothing but disdain for the Christmas season.  That sounds horrible, I know, but it's true.  In fact, the awareness that I was supposed to love Christmas, especially as a follower of Christ, only served as added fuel to the emotional disaster that the season was for me.

At that point in my life, I had a grumpy 9 month old and 3 young girls. I was chin deep in toys, laundry, stress, sleeplessness, freelance design work, and homeschooling.  I routinely went through cycles of moderate depression and intense physical fatigue.  So from this place, all I could see were the added responsibilities and expectations of the Christmas season.  I remember talking with a mentor of mine and guiltily admitting that I dreaded this time of year.  She asked how she could help and I found myself gushing a desperate plea to be relieved of having to make Christmas cut-out cookies with my girls.  This was one of the things they were looking forward to the most and the very thought of the mess and chaos it would bring nearly triggered a panic attack in me.  She just smiled and said why don't you let the girls come over here and make cookies this year.

It seems funny now :)  But that's just where I was at... everything overwhelmed me.

That stage lasted for a few years. Then last year as the end of October rolled around I realized that I was actually looking forward to the upcoming holiday season!  As if I was suddenly freed from a dreadful curse, I felt light and happy anticipating all that Christmas would bring.  My stage of life had shifted and the heaviness of that season was no longer so oppressive.

So if any piece of that resembles how you feel going into this Christmas season, I'm sorry...I remember the feeling so well and hurt with you.  Or maybe it runs even deeper for you.  Maybe you're experiencing loss or deep pain and Christmas is only going to intensify the reality of this.  Whether your situation is quite mild or all consuming, the answers are still the same.

Find someone to confide in and to help bear the weight of where you're at.  And if you don't have anyone, email me! We were never meant to do this life alone.  The enemy of our souls wants to isolate us.  He wants to mess with your mind and make your think things are hopeless.  But in Christ, and in the fellowship of believers we are never alone and we always have hope.

And most importantly, if you have to let everything else go... cling tightly to one thing.  Spend time each day in God's word and in prayer.  It doesn't have to be a lot, but pursue the only thing that has power to bring you out of darkness and into light and freedom.  It doesn't mean that as soon as you open up your Bible, everything will change.  But as you seek to know Christ more in this way, it will give you strength to endure and you'll find comfort from his presence.  After all, that's what Christmas is celebrating... Jesus coming near... so we could know Him and find life in Him.  Nothing else really matters.  Not even Christmas cut-out cookies :)

"But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Matthew 6:33

"You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." Jeremiah 29:13

"Let us strive to know the Lord. His appearance is as sure as the dawn. He will come to us like the rain, like the spring showers that water the land." Hosea 6:3

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13

So if it doesn't overwhelm you, :) .....and if it helps you get excited for this season of our Savior coming near...  I have these printable Merry Mail sticker for you!

Free Printable Christmas Wrapping Paper...

Hello Friends!

so... I was browsing through old pics on my computer the other day and came across some photos I took last December.  As I looked through them, it all came back to me... So these can be used as gift wrap, stickers, cards, whatever you can imagine!  I used them to cover some sweet little boxes...  and I also printed the pattern out on circle labels to make some cheery stickers!

Take a peek...

Simply click on the image of the design you'd like to save... then right-click and save to your computer!  They are high-resolution .png images formatted for legal sized paper (8.5x14)  But you should be able to print them on other sizes of paper as well.

Paper Dolls! ... what I've been up to...

So while I was away in NY this past May, Jaime and I did some brainstorming....dreaming... planning... whatever  you want to call it. Our poor brains are packed full of way too many creative ideas.  Too many ideas to ever actually do them all.  But, I did jump on one of those ideas as soon as I got back home.  Paper Dolls!!!

I have always loved paper dolls.  I grew up cutting them out with my mom.  Especially Queen Holden paper dolls... the cutest drawings of babies you will ever see.  Seriously.  So I drew sweet little girl faces and darling dressings for like a week straight.  It was awesome.

Anyways! I wanted to show them to you.  I made two sets... four different little girls with each their own set of unique clothes for my Etsy store.  I cut out one set for my girls to start playing with... and we are working on the second set.

Take a look!

Meet Sadie and Millie!
Each set comes with 2 dolls, 2 party dresses, 4 play outfits, 2 pair pajamas, accessories & extras

The little dresses I drew were inspired by some vintage kids clothes and some modern clothes as well.  I happened to find much of my modern inspiration from Gap Kids clothing, HA!  ...they have such cute stuff :)

I printed my dollies out on nice quality laser printer paper (even though I use an ink jet printer... little secret tip for  ya ;) and then I used a glue stick to glue the dolls onto light/med. weight cardboard.... something that you can cut with a scissor.  It worked so well!

Each set also comes with a cute little wardrobe that can be turned into a pocket to keep the dollies and their stuff!  ...this is maybe my favorite part :)

(This is a pic from my Instagram feed...)
AND... I've included a cover sheet for each set so that they can be gifted! All you have to do is print the set, including this cover sheet and put it in a trimmed off sheet protector (clear plastic sleeve)! Seal the top off with a cute sticker or washi tape and you have an adorable gift.  Yay!  Although you can't sell the set, you can gift as many printed copies as you wish!!  Think of all the little girls you could give this to, haha :)

Well, that's enough show and tell for now.  Go take a look at both sets in my store! if you want to see all the sweet details... you'll swoon, I promise ;)

Blessings,

Homemade Doll House... a Gift Idea so that I feel cool.

So last year I made almost all of my family and extended family's Christmas gifts.  It was fun, but exhausting.  Last Christmas I just bit off far more than I could chew...  I had Christmas cards in my my Etsy store, was doing freelance graphic design jobs, making gifts, homeschooling, and participating in all the regular Christmas festivities...all with 4 kiddos!  Yeah.

Not this year.  I just can't do all that!  I'm trying really hard to know my limits.  For one thing, I'm preggers and am just plain old tired most of the time.  Secondly, I tend to let the really important things slip to the back when I'm busy.  This year I want... am trying to... enjoy the season, slow down, and talk more about our Savior.  I'm trying to focus less on milking the Christmas selling season and more on staying sane!  Less on an ideal creative Christmas atmosphere and more on keeping up with the laundry and meals! ... So there are no Christmas items in my store, just prints.  I'm not doing any real freelance work during December.  And I'm not making all those fun homemade gifts.

It's kinda sad and hard though...  I'm a creative person!  I'm a business-minded person!  It's hard to turn that side of me off.  I feel like the rest of the people in the world (which is the blog/internet world...a somewhat misleading niche of people who are unlike many others!... you creative Pinterest and Blog people! ) are going on without me.  They are making gifts, sharing creative gift ideas, making fancy holiday treats, decorating out the wazoo!  I know there are so many people who are taking it easy like me... but it doesn't feel like it!

So to appease my need to be part of the fancy creative people... I'm sharing a gift idea from last year!  I happen to take these pics last year as well, so it didn't really require much of my time :)  I found this simple wooden doll house on Pinterest and asked the hubs to make it for some of my nieces.  We made 2 small ones and a big one for Barbie sized dolls.  They were quite easy to make and turned out really cute...  They just slide together and come apart... stacking in two flat pieces, not taking up much space at all.

I used scrapbook paper on the small ones and thick wrapping paper to cover the walls on the large one.  I adhered it with spray glue and then sealed it with Mod Podge.   So...  If you are feeling ambitious this year... or next year,  have at it!!

I made so many other cute gifts last year... and really had wanted to show you those ideas as well.  But I think it's safe to say, I'm just not going to find time to get out my camera and all the stuff I used to make the items and take pictures.  sorry.   Maybe during the year, I'll get around to it...  or maybe not :)

Blessings on whatever your December holds.  Regardless of the level of your ambitions, may it be focused on God's love and his indescribable gift of his Son... our Savior!

Blessings,

Printable Christmas Tags... sweet little winter birds

Yay!  It's Christmas time!  ... which means it's time for a free Christmas printable :)

I really wanted to print them out, wrap a few pretend gifts, and show you all the fun ways that I imagine using these tags... but alas, there are so many other things to do with my time (and small amount of energy...being preggers).  So I will let you get creative!

You can print these tags on regular paper, card stock, or sticker paper...  you can tape your tags onto your packages or you can punch them and tie with string!  I also imagine cutting slits on either side of the tags (especially the funky shaped ones...) and sliding them onto ribbon.  So I hope you have fun experimenting with these tags.

I assure you they were designed with love and plenty of Christmas joy!  Enjoy!

An Announcement... that probably won't surprise you.

That's right... we are expecting baby #5!

Our family just got back from KS, where we made the announcement to all of our folks/grandparents.

Oddly enough...even though we had told everyone that we were done with #4... no one was really surprised by our announcement!  Everyone figured we'd have more... (shaking my head)...  apparently they know us better than we know ourselves!  ...kind of annoying... but it made me smile :)

Speaking of assumptions and number of kiddos...  While Jeremy and I were in Kansas we went to a Homecoming dinner for our old Alma Mater.  We sat next to an older couple and made pleasant conversation with them throughout the dinner.  When we were about to leave, the lady asked us if we happen to have any kids.  We told her that we had 4 and were actually expecting our 5th.  She gasped and blatantly looked me up and down.  Then she declared that I was too young to have that many kids.  She then turned to her older couple friends and told them her discovery.  They too examined me and shook their heads.  awkward!  Then the lady stepped forward and asked me one more question,  "Do you homeschool?"   I told her that I did. Then she stuck her pointer finger triumphantly in the air and exclaimed, "I knew it!"

Oh, you have gotta love stereotyping of large families and homeschooling :)
That too made me smile.

So here we go down another crazy road of life!  I told my mother-in-law yesterday before we headed for home: "I've never experienced a more exhausting time of life... but it's so so rich."

We've never been happier :)

Here is the announcement I made from the photo to give our families....

Blessings to you all,

Bingo Birthday Card

Hello Friends!
I have a quick and easy, yet clever Birthday card idea for  you...

Find an old Bingo card with the right number for how old the person is turning....  circle it with a Sharpie, and attach the corresponding marker with hot glue to a string.  I wrote a message on the back and enclosed it with my gift....like I said, EASY!

Blessings,

A Printable for You... it's about time!

Hello Friends!

Did you think I'd forgotten about making printables?  I kinda did :)  I've just been movin' and groovin' at the speed of life these days... and haven't done much recreational designing.

But we started school this week.. and I got inspired by the happy/cheery/ school kids/ playful atmosphere going on in our house.  It made me think of THIS....

So I decided to make some cheery notes that you can pass along to someone who needs some cheer!  Maybe a co-worker needs a note of encouragement or a lunch box needs some love...  I'm sure you'll think of something to do with them!  I hope they make you smile :)
