Playing house with my Baby Doll

The sun is shining today...  and that really helps this hormonal mamma face the day :)
It also allows me to take pictures!

I felt like a little girl playing with her doll as I wrapped Lucy in a doll blanket and put her in a tiny toy cradle in the girls' room.  She fit perfectly and looked so sweet.  I even ended up rocking her a bit in it to keep her asleep.  So fun.

It all reminded me of something my Dad told me when he and my mom were here for Lucy's birth.  He said he would never forget a conversation he had with me as a young teenager...  During a daddy-daughter conversation, he had asked me what I wanted to "do."  He was referring to college plans, career interests, etc...  I simply told him that I wanted to be a wife and a mom.

That's all I've ever really wanted...
To love my husband, to love my babies, to create a home that honors Christ and allows all who enter into it to feel his love.
....for me there is no greater joy.

Blessings,

Lucy Lou... awake.

You know how babies look completely different with their eyes open... well, I thought I'd show you the awake side of Lucy!

She reminds me so much of my other girls as newborns... this is the 4th Jordan girl and I can't believe how similar they all have looked at this age.  I keep having flashbacks to those early days with each of my other girls... especially my first, Alice.  There are just so many similarities.  crazy. weird. so fun.

This is also the point, after having a new baby, where I start to panic.  My mom is gone... my mom-in-law left yesterday... and tomorrow I will be all alone with my brood of 5.  We are doing pretty well, but there are still so many kinks to work out!  V is still struggling- naturally.  He is being extra "difficult" these days.  And when you combine that with the fact that my emotions are still quite raw... things can get intense quite quickly!  I dread being up alone at night, and the fatigue is setting in.  So as I dive into a unavoidably challenging week, I remind myself:

"The LORD is with me; he is my helper."
Psalm 118:7a

"His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness."
2 Peter 1:3

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
Philippians 4:13

"Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. "
Isaiah 40:30-31

 Blessings,

I'd like to introduce to you...

Lucy arrived on Wednesday April 3, as scheduled...  Everything went very well!
Unlike our other kiddos, we chose Lucy's name pretty much just because we really like it!  It isn't a family name or anything, but we love the meaning....  Lucille means "light."  Our prayer for her is that she will be a light in this dark world, reflecting the light of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."  Matthew 5:16

Off... I go for now!  I need to nurse :)
There are so many things I'd love to share with you already...  emotions, thoughts, pictures, stories... out the wazoo!  But they will have to wait... a tiny hungry squirmy person awaits me.  :)

Blessings,

2 Days till Baby.... no fooling :)

Hello Friends :)
I've been absent... trying to get ready for baby and keep my head above water!  But I wanted to post a few pics of my big ol' pregnant belly before we meet our sweetie in 2 days.  My dear husband stuck with me till we got a few shots that I liked... then he let me take a nap :)

Enjoy...
And I'll be back next with pics of our baby girl!  YAY!

And the Kiddos in their Easter garb... :)

Blessings,
